Make your way to Harriet Island during August to witness the greenest weekend in Saint Paul at the Irish Fair of Minnesota. Just like St. Patrick’s Day, this fair brings out the Irish in everyone. Come by for music, food, drink and workshops—all designed to share the Irish culture. The proceeds of this festival benefit the new (non-Irish) immigrant projects and other Irish cultural activities throughout the year.
Visit the site of the Hopewell Native American burial grounds. Indian Mounds Park is home to the remaining 6 prehistoric mounds in the Saint Paul area, since the rest were destroyed as the town was developed. These burial mounds are protected for their historical significance, although you can picnic or play at the nearby playgrounds.
Come by the Chatterbox Pub in Saint Paul on Wednesday and Sunday nights to sing your heart out. This cozy corner nightlife lounge dusts off the karaoke machine for its customers at night, and their drink specials and local microbrew drafts keep the customers singing along with all their favorite tunes. And don’t miss Music Bingo on Thursdays!
