The North Carolina State Fair attracts an impressive 800,000 people every year, making it the largest annual event in North Carolina. Over the course of the 11-day festival, arts, agriculture, cultural exhibits and an amusement fairway all offer something fun to do and see every minute that you are there. Also, the event always features performances by nationally recognized talent.
The Joel Lane Museum House tells the interesting story of how Raleigh came to be. As you walk through the house that is adorned with vintage furnishings and other genuine relics of the period, you'll hear the story of how Lane, a prominent statesman and soldier, sold the 1,000 acres of his land for the formation of a new capital in 1792.
