The Missouri River's winding trail through Bismarck affords the people of the area an excellent source of aquatic sports fun. The river is known as an excellent fishing destination, but it also attracts fans of swimming, water skiing, and of course, sun bathing!

The Shade Tree Players Children's Theatre is a veritable breeding ground for young talent in Bismarck. Aspiring young actors, singers and performers get the chance to learn about the art of theater and then put their new-found skills to good use in a variety of productions that the group presents throughout the year. Several seasonal stage projects are presented year-round at this entertainment venue.

Each fall, the Downtowners produce an arts, craft, and food show called Street Fair. This event was created by the Downtowners in 1973 as “Customer Appreciation Days” then grew into a full blown Street Fair and is now in its 51st year. Arts, craft, and food vendors will once again line the streets of Downtown Bismarck during September.

Satisfy your adventurous nature by hopping aboard the Lewis and Clark Riverboat for an unforgettable day of exploration. You will cruise through the picturesque Missouri River on this state-of-the-art 150 passenger riverboat. This is an all-weather paddlewheeler and it docks at Port Bismarck. There are various packages to enjoy that include excursion cruises, moonlight treks, and dinner cruises, as well.
