Housed in the oldest and longest continuously operated synagogue in the city, the Jewish Museum of New Jersey represents what was once the sixth largest Jewish community in the US. The Grammy Award-winning New Jersey Symphony Orchestra can most often be found playing in the NJPAC, when not touring the rest of New Jersey and other states to showcase their nationally recognized talents. Since 1922, this symphony orchestra has had headquarters in Newark, drawing in some of the country’s finest musicians to this city.
