Learn more about the Garden State’s two-century aviation and space heritage at the Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey. Founded in 1972, this unique museum has collected, preserved and displayed aeronautical artifacts and attractions, and has honored men and women whose achievements brought global recognition to the state.
Although the New York Red Bulls may represent the Big Apple, you’ll find their home arena in the Garden State. Come by the Red Bull Arena to see this sports team face their competitors head-on. A charter club of the Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference, the Red Bulls do not have the best domestic record–even though they were the first MLS team to win a trophy outside of North America.
All ages are welcome at the Branch Brook Roller Skating Center, a state-run roller-skating rink in the park. Come for a skating lesson, watch the Garden State Rollergirls practice or just enjoy some fun public skating. Perfect for parties and themed events, this skating rink is open seven days a week during the daytime and evenings, as well as several late night events each week just for the adults.
Walk the halls where the first president, George Washington, once roamed. The Hermitage House, a National Historic Landmark and museum, consists of a preserved and restored stone house from 1763. This lovely home features several stunning Gothic Revival architectural details, from the diamond-paned windows to the high Tudor arches and gabled roof, as well as a collection of period furniture, clothing, accessories and other attractions on display.
