Housed in the oldest and longest continuously operated synagogue in the city, the Jewish Museum of New Jersey represents what was once the sixth largest Jewish community in the US. Inside this museum, you will find a large collection of historic manuscripts, art, clothing, tools and various other artifacts.

Escape to the Eagle Rock Reservation in Essex County. This forest reserve and park takes up more than 400 acres of land in this densely populated metro area. The park is filled with rolling hills, valleys, streams and an extensive trail system. The rustic view of the great outdoors is not all that will take your breath away, however. The Essex County 911 Memorial provides an unparalleled view the New York City skyline.

The Grammy Award-winning New Jersey Symphony Orchestra can most often be found playing in the NJPAC, when not touring the rest of New Jersey and other states to showcase their nationally recognized talents. Since 1922, this symphony orchestra has had headquarters in Newark, drawing in some of the country’s finest musicians to this city.
