The beautiful stone house and museum, known as Hermitage House, has born witness to many historically significant people and events over the centuries. More than 10,000 people visit this historic home annually for fun, history-themed events, special exhibitions and hands-on activities. Walk the halls where the first president, George Washington, once roamed. The Hermitage House, a National Historic Landmark and museum, consists of a preserved and restored stone house from 1763. This lovely home features several stunning Gothic Revival architectural details, from the diamond-paned windows to the high Tudor arches and gabled roof, as well as a collection of period furniture, clothing, accessories and other attractions on display.

In the heart of Newark’s IronBound district, you’ll find Krug’s Tavern. Both a restaurant and a dive bar, this laid-back, casual tavern is open for lunch, Happy Hour, dinner and into the late hours of the night. Munch on oversized sandwiches or the best burger in town while you sip on your choice of typical dive bar drinks.

The 97-acre Stephen R. Gregg-Bayonne County Park is divided into an east and a west half by shrubby slope. The western half features several different playing fields (from ball fields to tennis courts), a paved track and a spray pool. The eastern half showcases a greater variety of observable plant life as well as lovely outdoor scenery along Newark Bay.
