The various aspects of the American Indian experience are sharply presented in the many pieces and exhibits that are housed in the Wheelwright Museum Of The American Indian. This museum was built in 1937 by Mary Cabot Wheelwright to study the spiritual ceremonies of the Navajo Indians. After fifteen years of careful study, Wheelwright obtained permission to perform these rituals for historical and educational purposes. The museum also frequently presents Native American art exhibitions as well as an excellent gift shop that features pottery, paintings and rugs, as well as books and other items that colorfully tell the story of the Navajo tribe.

The Museum of International Folk Art is one of the only museums in the world that is wholeheartedly dedicated to folk arts. The venue's commitment is obvious by the fact that it houses an amazing 130,000 items from more than 100 countries. The kids will be captivated as they see art and artifacts that span hundreds of years and represent various cultures that date back hundreds of years. The kids will also enjoy it because the exhibits and attractions that tell these stories are not only colorful but highly interactive.

Nature lovers and history buffs will have much to enjoy outdoors when visiting Nambe Falls. There is plenty to captivate the eye, as this area features such natural amenities as waterfalls, fishing, camping, and inviting hiking trails. The excellent lookout points are numerous, but make sure to check out the area above Nambe Pueblo, which is one of the most breathtaking. The spot is also where the annual Fourth of July dance ceremony is held.
