The Reno Jazz Festival is sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and is scheduled every spring, usually in early April. The event prides itself in presenting the absolute best in jazz in the way of concerts, competitions and clinics. Aspiring musicians can learn about this incredibly complex and satisfying musical genre while seeing and hearing it performed by some of the most masterful players in the country.

Lucke's Saloon lives up to its name, as the venue has been around since the 1940s. Back in the 70s, the bar drew a fairly rough crowd, but over time it has attracted business professionals and people who just want a break from the usual bar scene and want to be comfortable in familiar surroundings.
