The Sierra Arts Foundation has a very simple mission: to nurture, teach and support by giving back to the local community. Sierra Arts offers various education programs, music seminars and lessons, and presents their very own ElderCare Concert Series that is designed to continue to bring music to the lives of the elderly in the area. Reno Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to tour local artists' studios to watch them create their different work using different mediums. See examples of painting, printmaking, pottery, weaving and jewelry making and maybe even try your hand at creating a masterpiece of your own. This tour also includes a visit to the Nevada Museum of Art.
