The Sierra Arts Foundation has a very simple mission: to nurture, teach and support by giving back to the local community. Sierra Arts offers various education programs, music seminars and lessons, and presents their very own ElderCare Concert Series that is designed to continue to bring music to the lives of the elderly in the area. The gallery also features nationally renown artists with various rotating exhibitions that continue to help support this organization's noble mission of community-minded service.

Downtown Reno celebrates its past and looks ahead to the future during the Pacific Fine Arts Festivals. The event is usually held in the latter part of July, and it features, among other attractions, more than 45 award-winning artists and crafts people showcasing a wide variety of their works including photography, oil paintings, ceramic artwork, jewelry, and lots more.

Instead of having the kids stand in front of a video game, give them a chance to move around for some good old fashioned exercise at Fun Quest, located inside the Reno Hilton. In addition to a great selection of video games, the kids can enjoy a turn behind the wheel on the magnetic bumper cars, the Galaxian Video Game Theater and laser tag. Reno Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to tour local artists' studios to watch them create their different work using different mediums. See examples of painting, printmaking, pottery, weaving and jewelry making and maybe even try your hand at creating a masterpiece of your own. This tour also includes a visit to the Nevada Museum of Art.
