The Reno Jazz Festival is sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno and is scheduled every spring, usually in early April. The event prides itself in presenting the absolute best in jazz in the way of concerts, competitions and clinics. Aspiring musicians can learn about this incredibly complex and satisfying musical genre while seeing and hearing it performed by some of the most masterful players in the country.

Instead of going for dinner and feeling like you both have to get dressed up, just throw on a pair of jeans and head out to Noble Pie Parlor. for a romantic date, enjoying a couple of brews and some of the best pizza in town. And while the menu items are a little pricey, the quality of the food and the fun atmosphere make it all worth it. And don't forget to stick around after you're done eating for a fun round of rock-n-roll bingo!

Come in and be a part of one of Reno's most famous traditions, the Little Waldorf Saloon. Affectionately known as the Lil' Waldorf, it's a great choice for having drinks with friends and enjoying the great atmosphere that includes sports on several big screens, great drink specials and a friendly staff. Plus, there's always something fun going on every night of the week like Wii tournaments, pool competitions and lots of giveaways. The deeply-stocked bar features over 40 hand-crafted beers, so if you're a beer enthusiast this is the perfect nightlife destination for you.

The Nevada Opera is a nationally recognized group that consistently delivers accomplished performances of classics, and creates some of its own in the form of themed engagements and special nights like Opera in Blue Jeans held at the local Wingfield Park during the summer months. There's also the very popular Juke Box Opera fund raiser that lets you choose the music the opera will interpret. And, of course, there are the touchstone works like The Marriage of Figaro and Trial By Jury that keep opera newcomers and veterans equally satisfied.
