Cool music and even cooler brews await you and your friends at Nietzsche's. This is one of Buffalo's favorite nightlife destinations to check out new and upcoming musical talent, as live music is featured regularly. Also, the bar is equally famous for its plentiful pints of Guinness, Bass, Killian's Irish Red, or Rolling Rock. If your taste buds prefer, there is also an inviting selection of bottled brews from which to choose. So, it's safe to say that your beer mug will never be empty for long. And, appropriately, the dance floor is large enough to accommodate anyone and everyone who cares to move to the music.
Artpark accomplishes the formidable task of combining art with nature. The project is one that succeeds brilliantly. As for the art portion of the equation, there are several outdoor events scheduled at the park throughout the year that include concerts, recitals and various other presentations that celebrate the many types of performing arts. But also, Artpark is a haven for nature lovers as visitors can enjoy hiking and walking, biking, fishing, and picnicking. There are large sculptures along the walking trail as well as an 1,800-year-old burial mound to take in as you walk through the trails. There are also several opportunities for birding, as several feathered species make their home here.
Niagara Gorge Discovery Center captures the essence and impressively tells the story of the Niagara Gorge. The fact that the area's history dates back 453 million years is staggering, but the museum does a highly impressive job of communicating this sweeping span of history in a fun and entertaining way. There are several interesting exhibits as well as larger-than-life presentations that can be viewed in an impressive multi-screen theater.
Buffalo's National Buffalo Wing Festival is held every September at Coca-Cola Field. Once you're in, you can not only tour the stadium but also treat your taste buds to some of the most delectable buffalo wings you've ever tasted! Wing lovers come from all over the country (and even the world) to celebrate the art of the buffalo wing. The event is held every Labor Day weekend and not only features the best wings in the world, but an equally staggering selection of beer and other delicious treats. Plus, there's great live music, events for the kids in the kids zone and even a nearby RV park for people who make the pilgrimage by way of the road. Lots of great fun, lots of incredible wings, and, to be sure, lots of napkins for everyone!
