The Buffalo Bisons, the city's Minor League baseball team, makes its home in Coca-Cola Field. The team is a Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Fans line in as the weather gets warmer to see their favorite sports team hit the diamond. The park features several family-oriented promotions as well as various fan giveaways and other special events before, during and after the games.

The Beaver Meadow Audubon Center was designed to offer Buffalo's many city-dwellers a great opportunity to get close to nature. This 324-acre wildlife sanctuary includes a forest, a field and wetland areas that are all just a short drive from downtown. In addition to the natural settings, the trail on site stretches for eight miles and the adjacent beach offers still yet another scene in which to absorb some natural beauty. Even during the winter, the center is still open as it offers more outdoor fun in the form of snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

The canal is actually quite interesting, and you can learn more about it when you take the Lockport Locks and Erie Canal Cruise. Your tour guide will be quite informative from start to finish, describing how Lockport is known for the area's water "locks" that run approximately 50 feet. When you cruise through the canal on this tour, you'll actually go through the "locks" and see for yourself how these locks are used to move traffic along the river and its uniquely elevated terrain. The group consistently presents child-centered entertainment and professionally produced theater that will surely put a smile on your face. The troupe has won various awards for its great sets and costumes. The Theatre of Youth has moved into the recently renovated Allendale Theater, a former vaudeville house that was built in 1913. Despite that deep historical connection, every performance comes alive with an intoxicating, youthful exuberance.
