Darien Lakes State Park is known for its challenging, hilly terrain that surrounds the 12-acre Harlow Lake. There are several excellent recreation trails to be found in this naturally alluring part of the area. In addition to the trails, you will also find an impressive 158 campsites, a beach, playgrounds, great fishing spots, and horseback riding trails, too. Additionally, the trails here are open for not only hiking, but for sports like cross-country skiing and snowmobiling as well.

The Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village offers visitors a fascinating glimpse of what life was like for the area’s settlers. The museum is situated on a 35-acre park that is dedicated to telling the story of frontier life in the Niagara area. See such interesting sites as vintage houses, restored homes, and actual buildings in which the area's pioneers lived. Don't forget to stop into the museum to see some authentic arts and crafts that date back to this formative period in Buffalo's history.

Bar-Bill Tavern is the perfect nightlife destination to meet your friends and unwind over a frosty mug of beer and a nice, tasty sandwich. This rustic but appealing bar is housed in a timber-framed building and is made even more appealing by the friendly staff and equally amiable patrons. Lots of great eats are on the menu that include beef on weck, a slow-roasted beef that will melt in your mouth. Also, don't forget to order the excellent buffalo wings that are offered in a variety of flavors that include Sicilian, barbecue and, if you dare, suicidal!

Delaware Park is a favorite of Buffalo residents for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that it bears a resemblance to New York City's Central Park. The reason for that is because landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed that park for the Big Apple, also designed Delaware Park. Olmsted said that his formula for a great park always had to include water, woods and meadows, and all three are distinctly present at Delaware Park. This is an ideal place to bring the family for a day of fun outdoors that includes walking, jogging, playing tennis or golf, or just enjoying a picnic in one of the park's many expansive areas.
