Stroll through the gardens of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to see over 10,000 species of plant life thriving in the city. The BBG sprawls over 52 acres near the Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Park Slope neighborhoods. The garden is occupied by the Steinhardt Conservatory where the C.V. Starr Bonsai Museum is located. The conservatory features three climate-themed plant pavilions, a white cast-iron and glass aquatic plant house and an art gallery. The Nicholas Roerich Museum is dedicated to the works of Russian-born artist, Nicholas Roerich. His work focused on nature scenes from the Himalayas and there are rumored to be thousands of Roerich paintings around the world. His paintings explore the "mythic origins, the natural beauty, and the spiritual strivings of humanity and of the world." The museum is home to between 100 and 200 of Roerich's paintings as well as a collection of archival materials. People from all around the world visit New York to see the work of Roerich.
