Morris-Jumel Mansion
The Morris-Jumel Mansion served as George Washington's headquarters in 1776 during the American Revolution, as the home's hilltop location offered strategic views of the Harlem River, the Bronx, Long Island, the Hudson River, and the New Jersey Palisades. This museum is home to a rare books and manuscripts research library holding 15,000 books printed before 1700.
