Celebrate our everyday heroes at the New York City Fire Museum. This museum details the history of firefighting and houses one of the nation's most important collections of fire-related art and artifacts. The museum is located in a renovated fire house that has been around since 1904. Painted leather buckets, helmets, parade hats and belts, lanterns and tools, pre-Civil War hand pumped fire engines, horse drawn vehicles and early motorized devices are a few items in the museum's collection.

The New York Mets is a Major League Baseball team based in the borough of Queens in NYC. Since the sports team began playing in 1962, they have won five East Division titles, four National League pennants and two World Series titles. Richie Ashburn, Yogi Berra, Rickey Henderson, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Duke Snider, Warren Spahn and Casey Stengel have all been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

When you're checking out the sights of Brooklyn, be sure to spend some time at Prospect Park. The beautiful park occupies 585 acres and boasts a sprawling 90-acre meadow, aptly named Long Meadow, man-made waterways and lakes, the Prospect Park Zoo, a boathouse for Brooklyn's only lake, facilities for a variety of sports and the Prospect Park Bandshell concert venue.
