The society's collection is comprised of over 800,000 objects from a variety of cultures and time periods. The ANS has a permanent exhibit featured at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York called Drachmas Doubloons and Dollars: The History of Money. The American Numismatic Society is the foremost institution of its kind in the nation.
