Those with an interest in military and maritime history will enjoy the exhibits at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The museum has a collection of ships and other war craft including the World War II aircraft carrier USS Intrepid, the submarine USS Growler, a Concorde SST and a Lockheed A-12 supersonic reconnaissance plane. Exhibits showcase aircraft from: the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, NASA and Britain, Italy, France, Israel, China and Poland.

Get a look at some of nature's most wild creatures in the middle of the Concrete Jungle and explore the attractions at the Central Park Zoo. The zoo provides habitats for animals like lemurs, snow leopards, peacocks, and polar bears. While visiting with the kids, be sure to explore the special area of the zoo made just for them, the Tisch Children's Zoo.

The Morris-Jumel Mansion served as George Washington's headquarters in 1776 during the American Revolution, as the home's hilltop location offered strategic views of the Harlem River, the Bronx, Long Island, the Hudson River, and the New Jersey Palisades. Now, the mansion hosts a variety of exhibits that describe a variety of historic elements that range from war to fashion, politics, art and more.

Helping to bring the buzz of professional soccer here to the States, the New York Red Bulls have helped establish Major League Soccer. The team plays out of NYC and home games take place at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The team has won two Eastern Division titles but have yet to win an MLS Cup. Roberto Donadoni, Lothar Matthaus, Adolfo Valencia, Youri Djorkaeff and Amado Guevara have all played for the Red Bulls.
