Syracuse's Landmark Theatre truly lives up to its name. This venue originally opened its doors in 1928 and stands as New York's last remaining Depression-era cinema that is still in operation. The theater became popular for its double bill of a movie and a live show. Facing problems in 1977, the foundering venue was rescued by investors who got it listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
