Syracuse's Thornden Park offers a little something for everyone. If you are ready to either watch or be a part of the big football game, the park features an impressive multipurpose athletic field that's perfectly suited for football, soccer or lacrosse. There are also four tennis courts and a swimming pool. The smaller kids will love the more traditional swings, slides, seesaws and climbing bars. Or, if you prefer, you can just sit outdoors and admire the beautifully maintained rose garden.
The Irish take pride in many things, but one of the most obvious is their penchant for celebrations that feature lots of their favorite ale. Find such a celebration every time you stroll through the front doors of Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub. This special nightlife destination was established as a working man's saloon in 1933 on historic Tipperary Hill and while it has grown in size since then, it still maintains a great small pub atmosphere. Coleman's offers a great menu, live music, and of course, special events to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Tee off in style–despite the size of the course–when you take the whole family out for a great day of fun at Fairmount Glen Miniature Golf. This attraction has been a Syracuse tradition for over 60 years. The course is as challenging as it is fun, and the kids will love trying to make that nearly impossible shot! The venue offers a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that also gets rave notices for not only being well maintained, but also for its very friendly staff. Plus, don't forget to stop in to visit the concession stand for a tasty treat before or after your game.
