Since 1993, the Ballet Theatre of Ohio has brought their performances to the Akron Civic Theatre each season. You can also see them dance during collaborations with Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and the Akron Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy classical ballets performed by some of the top ballerinas in the Cleveland-Akron area. This popular theater draws in the largest ballet audience in Northeastern Ohio!

The Matinee was started in Akron’s Highland Square historic area in the fall of 2006. It was opened by Mario Nemr (and pals), the long time resident DJ at Akron’s infamous alternative nightclub, Thursday's Lounge. The Matinee became an instant hit within the local Akron music scene. Local and national bands are attracted to its warm atmosphere, small stage, and a great sound system. In addition, an excellent beer and wine list made it a welcoming spot for just about any person who enjoys the nightlife.

Come watch the Akron Aeros take the field at Canal Park for an exciting minor league baseball game. Named in honor of Ohio’s many great airplane and aerospace research and discoveries, the Akron Aeros send the baseball soaring across the sky and have taken home numerous league and division titles.
