Built on 70 acres of country estate, the Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens consists of a 65-room manor, the seventh largest house in the US, and ten outdoor gardens. See traditional English and Japanese gardens without ever leaving the country, or visit the conservatory to learn more about the rare plants this facility grows.
Lace up your sneakers, slip on your rollerblades or pump up your bike tires and head over to the Bike & Hike Trail, one of the first “rails to trails” projects in the country. Follow along the smoothly paved 33.5-mile recreation trail and enjoy some of the most scenic section of the Cuyahoga River and Munroe Falls.
Step back in time at the Hower House, a 28-room Victorian Mansion built in 1871 by John Henry Hower. This Akron Industrialist’s mansion remained well preserved and eventually was declared a National Historic Landmark. Take a public or private tour to see the collection of Victorian-era treasures and furnishings that have been collected over the decades.
