The Black Swamp Arts Festival is usually held every Labor Day Weekend in downtown Bowling Green, Ohio, which is just twenty miles south of Toledo. This is a celebration of many forms of art as well as the people who create it. The underlying purpose of this multifaceted event is to ultimately connect these talented artisans and creators with other artists as well as the public who are given the chance to purchase many of the paintings, sculptures and other pieces on display over the course of this three-day event. There is also live music, food and plenty of family-friendly activities that practically guarantee a splendid time for all.
Kids love to scribble and draw. If your little ones have an artistic inclination, then foster that talent and maybe even inspire them with a visit to the Toledo Museum of Art. This impressive attraction features art that spans the historical sweep from the ancient to the modern. Many pieces are presented in various media that include pottery, sculpture and photography. There is also a fascinating section of exhibits that spotlight historical furniture and other artifacts.
Friendly and slightly trendy is the best way to describe The Distillery. This is one of Toledo's favorite places to hang out, enjoy some tasty pub grub and enjoy music. The nightlife venue always features an impressive lineup of excellent cover bands, but on the nights when there is no live music, there is an excellent selection of 80s, 90s and current music being expertly spun by the in-house DJs. The Distillery's casual atmosphere, great drink selection and young crowd make this a great place to hang out any night of the week.
