Metroparks in Toledo is a group of parks and green, wide open spaces all linked by the same group of recreation trails. They are ideal for walking, running and cycling. The group of cycling trails is the host spot for the Metroparks Bicycle Tour that includes a choice of a 10, 31 or 100 mile loop.

While it may be true that history is all around us, sometimes you have to travel a bit to get to it. That is the case with Sauder Farm and Craft Village. Located about an hour's drive outside of Toledo, this historical attraction vividly demonstrates what rural life was like in Ohio back in the 1800s. Visit a blacksmith, a potter, and a general store as well as a popular quilt shop. There are also many historic homes and picturesque gardens that you can stroll through. And, if you get hungry, enjoy a delicious meal at the nearby Barn Restaurant.

Copper Moon Studio showcases the unique creations of area artists. This is one of the area's most endearing shops, and in addition to seeing some amazing locally produced art, there is also an equally inviting selection of mementos and gifts that are highly appealing in both their style and presentation. Among the many great finds here include jewelry, stained glass, paintings and photographs. There are even garden accents, mirrors and mosaics available, too.

Fans of nature and the great outdoors feel right at home at Toledo's Wildwood Preserve Metropark. This is one of the area's most visually stunning examples of a tall-grass prairie and all of the life and beauty that are associated with it. There are plenty of fun activities available here that include a boardwalk, a covered bridge, a 100-year-old schoolhouse and even a hiking trail that leads to the University Parks Trail.
