The Toledo Mud Hens are one of minor league baseball's oldest teams, dating all the way back to 1896. The team is an affiliate of the MLB Detroit Tigers. The sports team plays their home games at Fifth Third Field and won the International League Governor's Cup in 2006.

The Toledo Botanical Garden is a benchmark against which similar gardens are measured throughout the country, and with good reason. This is considered to be one of the pioneering gardens because of its dramatically beautiful visual and natural presentation.
