Things To Do in Eugene, OR
Golfers who take to the links at Eugene's Laurelwood Course most definitely love a challenge. This 9-hole course will test your skill level at every turn as it is built on a hillside and features tree-lined fairways. The fact that many of the course's main areas are uneven will test the abilities of even the most seasoned golfer. To make things even more interesting, there are four sets of tees available to suit the abilities of every player.
There are classic events, and then there are classically classic events like the Oregon Bach Festival held the last part of June and into early July. Under the superb leadership of Helmuth Riling, the festival presents the choral and orchestral masterworks of Sebastian Bach. The event is held in Eugene at the University of Oregon's Beall Concert Hall and the Hult Center for the Performing Arts as well as other cities in Oregon.
Breathe in some of Eugene's fresh clean air as you enjoy a visit to Willamette National Forest. This park is accessed from Highway 58 east of Eugene, and when you approach the area you will drive along the scenic, narrow reservoir that leads to the larger Dexter and Lookout Point Reservoirs. In the warmer months of the year, enjoy swimming and fishing or just wade in the edge of the water. Plan an outdoor picnic, a family outing or fishing trip in this truly memorable and picturesque part of the area.
