Head to the Hawthorne Theatre for live music or Rockstar Karaoke. The entertainment venue hosts live performances of all genres of music, from reggae to rock, country and more. If there's not a performance going on, you can become the entertainment during Rockstar Karaoke. The Hawthorne Theatre also serves up a wide variety of appetizers and a nice selection of adult beverages at its full bar.
Learn about Jewish history and culture at the Oregon Jewish Museum. Along with an extensive archive collection, the museum hosts several exhibits including traveling features. Some of the exhibitions showcased include Transport – Works by Henk Pander and Esther Podemski and The Dawn of Tomorrow: Oregon Jews and Woman Suffrage.
Head to Oaks Pioneer Church and Park for some peace and meditation in nature. The church was originally built in 1851 as St. John's Episcopal Church but was later moved to its present location at the edge of Sellwood Park in 1961. The church and historic landmark is a popular destination for weddings, and offers plenty of surrounding trails for exploring the park.
Be serenaded by the sounds of jazz music at the Portland Jazz Festival. The festival is hosted in effort to preserve an original American art form: the jazz music genre. Legends of the genre and up-and-coming jazz musicians have performed at this event.
