If you want to see art, then the First Friday event is where it's at. The event exposes the city's best galleries, exhibit openings, alternative art venues and more. Hosted by Portland's Eastside art galleries, this event takes place the first Friday of every month, and guarantees the best the city's art scene has to offer.

See a performance at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, an entertainment venue that's considered to be one of the best in the nation. The PCPA is comprised of three buildings, and the stages of these buildings host a variety of productions, from concerts to dance performances, Broadway shows and symphony events and much more. The venue keeps a busy schedule so there's sure to be something going on that suits your interest.

Classic, contemporary and original works come to life through the talent at Portland Center Stage. Past performances include One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Oklahoma!, Snow Falling on Cedars, and An Iliad. The PCS is one of the largest regional theaters in the nation, and along with performances, the entertainment venue hosts a variety of educational programs and workshops.

Enjoy one of Portland's beautiful outdoor spaces and hang out at Alberta Park. The park offers amenities and attractions like a basketball court, a soccer field, a baseball field, a tennis court, paved walking paths, and an off-leash dog area where pups can roam free. There's also a playground where the kiddos can run wild and picnic tables where everyone can hang out together.
