Hosted by Portland's Eastside art galleries, this event takes place the first Friday of every month, and guarantees the best the city's art scene has to offer.

Embark on a journey through the Portland Japanese Garden, hailed as “the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan.” As you roam through, you'll find that there are five main gardens: Flat Garden, Strolling Pond Garden, The Tea Garden, Natural Garden, and Sand and Stone Garden. Here's a sport you don't see every day; make plans to be in the stands at the next Rose City Rollers derby bout. This roller derby league is comprised of four local teams: Break Neck Betties, Guns N Rollers, Heartless Heathers, and High Rollers. If you've never seen one of their competitions, prepare yourself for some fast-paced, hard-hitting action.

Hang out in the middle of the city at Tryon Creek State Park. This park is the only state park in Oregon to be located within a metropolitan area, meaning you can experience fun outdoors without having to venture too far from the city. Hiking, biking, and nature walking are popular at this park.
