Portland'5 Centers For The Arts
See a performance at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, an entertainment venue that's considered to be one of the best in the nation. The PCPA is comprised of three buildings, and the stages of these buildings host a variety of productions, from concerts to dance performances, Broadway shows and symphony events and much more. Timberline Lodge
Grab your skis and get ready to conquer a mountain with a little help from the Timberline Lodge. The lodge is located on the south side of Mount Hood and provides the nation's longest skiing season. Along with skiing, Timberline's recreation area hosts snowboarding, hiking, and climbing. Fun fact: aerial shots of the lodge were used as part of the opening scenes of Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Stephen King's The Shining.
Portlandia
Take the time to stop by and see one of the city's most significant pieces of public art, Portlandia. Located at the Michael Graves' Portland Building entrance, the statue is a reincarnation of the city seal, designed as a woman holding a trident and welcoming visitors to the building. The statue is the second largest copper repousse in the nation, surpassed only by the Statue of Liberty.
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge
The Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is comprised of the wetlands on the east bank of the Willamette River. This preservation area stretches a little over 140 acres and provides several hiking and biking trails for those who want to explore nature and enjoy the great outdoors.
