Here's a sport you don't see every day; make plans to be in the stands at the next Rose City Rollers derby bout. This roller derby league is comprised of four local teams: Break Neck Betties, Guns N Rollers, Heartless Heathers, and High Rollers. If you've never seen one of their competitions, prepare yourself for some fast-paced, hard-hitting action.

Buy your next piece of art at the Art in the Pearl event. This festival features a variety of paintings, glassworks, sculpture and other arts by local and regional artists, along with handcrafted goods, jewelry, furniture and more. The event has been a part of the community for over 15 years.

See a little piece of literature that's been brought to life and immortalized at the Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden. The sculptures here were created in the likeness of Cleary's most beloved characters, Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, and the Huggins' dog Ribsy. The statues are complete with fountains that create a fun environment to play, and also feature plaques with the titles of Cleary's Portland-based stories.
