Bushkill Park
About and hour and half away from Philly is Bushkill Park, a smaller, family-friendly amusement park perfect for children. Historic Bushkill Park is famous for its antique rides, such as bumper cars, and has one of the oldest funhouses in the world. The park is currently undergoing some renovation but a revival is expected, especially after the park was featured on American Pickers.
Franklin Square
Planned by William Penn during the late 17th century, Franklin Square is one of the five original open-space parks in Philadelphia. According to local legend, this park is where Benjamin Franklin conducted his famous "kite and key" lightening experiment. This square is dedicated to outdoor fun, with a carousel, mini golf course, fountain and playground located on the premises.
Betsy Ross House
Swing by one of the most visited tourist attractions: the Betsy Ross House. The carefully preserved and restored Georgian-style house was supposedly the home to Betsy Ross, sewer of the first American flag, and her first husband, John Ross, during the American Revolution.
