As you walk through Independence Mall, be sure to pop into the National Constitution Center to learn more about the birth of America. As the Birthplace of America, it is fitting that the nation’s first and only nonpartisan institution devoted to the Constitution is located in Philadelphia. The whole family can enjoy the time spent touring the attractions, multimedia exhibitions and watching live performances.

Take a walk along the waterfront at Penn’s Landing and you may find some of the best shows and entertainment in the city, from Screening Under the Stars to the Olympic-sized RiverRink. Lace up your skates or rollerblades and head towards the Palace Roller Skating & Fun Center. This roller skating rink is fun for people of all ages and all skill levels. Public skating and skating classes are available most days of the week, although the facility does allow private rentals as well for birthday parties and group functions.

Learn about the natural world at the Wagner Free Institute of Science, established in 1855 by William Wagner. Wagner created this natural history museum as a way to offer free educational courses to the public. Today, the Institute continues to offer free science courses as well as public access to their library, lecture hall and museum.
