Celebrate the changing season and beer! Penn Brewery Oktoberfest opens its doors to the public to share its freshest seasonal draft beers. Enjoy a good local brew as you munch on the delicious German specialties like bratwurst and sauerkraut, listen to live entertainment, meet radio show personalities, enter contests and more. Must be 21 and over for this festival.

Have your breath taken away as you travel up the Duquesne Incline. Once the main mode of transportation for Pittsburghers to get up the incredibly steep hills, nowadays the historic funicular takes guests up to the top of Mt. Washington for the best view of downtown. Children will get a kick out of the authentic car, the old photographs and artifacts in the upper station, and the ride up and down the mountain.

Spend some time exploring the outdoor jewel of Pittsburgh’s North Side. Riverview Park offers an extensive network of trails through its dense woodlands and dramatically steep hills for hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback ride. Riverview is also home to the Allegheny Observatory, a space-themed playground, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool, ball field and many picnic areas.
