Pittsburgh is a city filled with art and culture, especially theater. The Pittsburgh New Works Festival is dedicated to fostering theatrical productions, specifically original one-act plays. During the four weeks of the festival, different theater companies compete while simultaneously pooling resources together to showcase the city’s artistic talent.

View unique local art you can really get into at the Mattress Factory Art Museum. By get into, we mean you can enter a few of the room-sized installations created by in-residence artists. One of the few museums of its kind, the Mattress Factory presents groundbreaking forays into the world of social media not seen elsewhere.

Visit the Cultural District’s newest nightlife hot spot for live entertainment and drinks. The Backstage Bar offers Pittsburghers a fun, classy place to enjoy casual food prepared by award-winning Chef Toni Pais as well as an outstanding list of premium wines, spirits, specialty drinks and beers. The Backstage Bar is open to the public, no tickets required, and often features free performances by local bands.
