This is an actual sculpture by Barnaby Evans that has been installed on the three rivers of downtown Providence. This powerful work of art comes alive as several bonfires are lit on the surface of the water and it illuminates the paths and surrounding areas of Waterplace Park. First lit in 1994, WaterFire Providence has come to symbolize the city's spirit of resilience. The attraction has also revitalized the city's downtown area, as this popular spectacle has attracted nearly ten million visitors since it first appeared.

Kids are used to being told to keep their hands off of things. Luckily for them, the opposite is the case when the whole family visits the Providence Children's Museum. A hands-on approach is highly encouraged as the kids are able to create their own artwork using the provided paints and other modes of expression. The exhibits and attractions are hands-on and are highly informative and entertaining, presenting such subjects as a time traveling adventure through Rhode Island's multicultural history, and a wet and wild exploration of the ways of water.
