First lit in 1994, WaterFire Providence has come to symbolize the city's spirit of resilience. The attraction has also revitalized the city's downtown area, as this popular spectacle has attracted nearly ten million visitors since it first appeared.

The Rhode Island Rebellion makes its home in Providence. The sports team is a part of the Rugby League and plays its games at Classical High School. The team is a member of the USA Rugby League.
