This long-awaited community playground attraction has been in the making for some time, and now that it has been unveiled, it symbolizes the importance of working together. Neighbors, community families and the City of Providence Parks Department have all collaborated to create this fun place on the site that was once an old apartment building. Since that structure was demolished, this beacon of unity stands in its place for friends and families to enjoy.

Providence's Governor Henry Lippitt House offers you a rare opportunity to travel back to the high-Victorian days. In fact, you will feel like you've returned to a different time and place when you tour this house, as the architectural details like hand-carved woodwork, intricate stenciling and ornate chandeliers are just a few of the many stunning features you will find here. This attraction was named a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
