Knoxville had the honor of hosting the World's Fair in 1982. One of the most obvious reminders of that momentous event is the fact that the Sunsphere was built to complement the event and it still stands today as a great way for tourists to get a bird's eye view of the city. Visit the various levels and enjoy views of downtown, the University of Tennessee and the mountains in the distance. It's a truly breathtaking experience. Other attractions include The Candy Factory, a group of Victorian homes that house shops selling arts and crafts, and Fort Kid that is a playground featuring historically-themed rides and play areas. The celebration of the World's Fair clearly still echoes at this fun, family-friendly attraction in Knoxville. 

Fountain Lanes Strike and Spare Family Bowling is a great place to get the family together and enjoy some fun in a very impressive entertainment facility. Get your game on when you let the ball roll down one of the 36 synthetic lanes. A digital scoring system, lots of choices at the full-service grill and a great drink menu all ensure that you'll enjoy every one of your frames! There's also an impressively-stocked pro shop and an arcade for the kids, too!

The Mabry-Hazen House is an essential part of your visit to Knoxville, especially if you are a fan of history. The structure was once the headquarters for both Union and Confederate forces. This house museum features one of the largest collections of Civil War and Victorian antiques. The home is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so make sure you take your camera along to capture images of this truly dramatic site.
