Hattiloo Theatre is a Black repertory theatre company that is dedicated to developing a Black theater that is accessible to, relevant to, and reflective of a multicultural community. The theater stages at least seven major productions and about six special performances authored by Black writers each entertainment season.

Rent a pair of roller-skates or bring your own and head out onto the rink at the Cordova Skating Center. This skating center is open to the public every afternoon except Tuesdays, during skating lessons, and is a popular place for birthday parties. There is also an arcade area, for those not interested in skating.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of downtown at Court Square. This urban park is a small haven for those in the city. One of the original city squares, this plaza offers the shade of a pavilion, beautiful Greek statues and cooling fountains. Look for the occasional outdoor concert, lunchtime karaoke and even visits from the circus elephants!

With two lakes and miles of hiking trails, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is perfect for boating, biking and outdoor activities. Enjoy swimming, fishing, horseback riding and disc golf at this beautiful park. Pack a tent and camp among the large oak, cypress and tupelo trees or rent a cabin and enjoy modern luxuries in the woods.
