Go on a water recreation adventure with Ghost River Canoe and Kayak Rentals. Follow the well-marked canoe trail in the Wolf River. This 8.5-mile trail includes many turns, beautiful cypress, wildlife sightings, a trip through Spirit Lake and the mystic Ghost Section. Located about half an hour outside of Memphis, this part of the river is great for more experienced paddlers but not recommended for beginners.
Bring your wild things to see the animals at the Memphis Zoo. The zoo is home to a number of big cats, primates and other African plains mammals, as well as a variety of reptiles, farm animals and exotic creatures from all over the globe. Take the family to an animal attraction or show, such as the Sea Lions or Animals of the Night, or feed the birds at the Birds & Bees house.
Party away the month of May. Join residents as they celebrate Memphis in May, a month-long festival featuring four main events: the Beale Street Music Festival, International Week, the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest and the Sunset Symphony. Bring the family out for awesome music, delicious food and Memphis heritage.
