The Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show takes place every fall at the Amarillo Civic Center and features over 450 companies showcasing the latest agricultural equipment and the newest information through special presentations, workshops and seminars. Nearly 30,000 attendees from the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles attend the show, along with visitors from New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas. Everyone from farmers to ranch workers to businessmen who deal with farming and everything that goes with it, make it a point to be in Amarillo for this show.

No matter what the season may be, there is always something fun to do or discover at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens. The beautiful landscape that features a winding walking path is punctuated by benches that invite you to sit for awhile and reflect on the beautiful flowers and trees that inhabit this outdoor oasis. The venue has the distinction of being the largest history museum in the state, and none of that space is wasted in telling the dramatic stories of how life on the plains came to be. Also, don't miss the beautiful collection of Texas art that includes Southwest American Indian art. Dig a little deeper as you pass through the paleontology and archeology areas that lead to the present day with the inclusion of some cutting edge modern art. From a lone sagebrush to art that reflects the present day, the wide panorama of it all is waiting to be seen at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.
