Showdown often runs specials such as the Happy Minutes, UTA Day and the Mug Club and that is in addition to the already great prices. They also have a bar-style menu that will do the trick when you need a late, fried up snack, free peanuts, pool tables, a great jukebox and good music and even a place where you can do your laundry. Arlington's Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration takes place every January. There are plenty of activities planned at this festival, as well as live music, artwork from area students, and invited speakers that all pay homage to the life and mission of Dr. King. There is also an essay and artwork contest held in conjunction with the festivities.
