The Arlington Historical Society is where the past is a present to the future. The staff works hard to continue to preserve the history, stories and events that have gone to shape the Arlington of today. One of Arlington's most historically significant sites is the Knapp Heritage Park. Located in downtown Arlington, this structure offers a glimpse at pioneer life. The park consists of a one-room schoolhouse, a one-room cabin, a dog trot cabin and the Bardin barn. Be sure to look for the general store in James Knapp's law office, as it is a recognized landmark from the Arlington Preservation Society.
Skating is a great way to get some exercise while having a lot of fun with a date, or the whole family. This is an enjoyable experience, no matter what the skill level is. Arlington Skatium offers a friendly and safe recreation environment in which to skate (or learn how). Skate rental is available as well as a rest area and a place to enjoy some concessions before you get back out on the rink for more fun.
The Arlington Museum of Art has maintained an impressive tradition of fostering the creativity of artists from all around the world and then giving them a venue in which their work can be appreciated. This museum and art attraction maintains an active schedule of various exhibits, programs and events all designed to further the importance of artistic expression in the community. There are also special presentations for students and various groups, as well as classes and other special events throughout the year that serve to underscore the importance of art in all of our lives.
