The Arlington Historical Society is where the past is a present to the future. The staff works hard to continue to preserve the history, stories and events that have gone to shape the Arlington of today. One of Arlington's most historically significant sites is the Knapp Heritage Park. Located in downtown Arlington, this structure offers a glimpse at pioneer life. The park consists of a one-room schoolhouse, a one-room cabin, a dog trot cabin and the Bardin barn. Be sure to look for the general store in James Knapp's law office, as it is a recognized landmark from the Arlington Preservation Society.
AT&T Stadium is more than the home of the Dallas Cowboys, it's a world of facts and figures about the world's largest domed structure, an art museum, a classroom. The things you can do inside the stadium are endless and will appeal to people of all interests and ages, and tours are available daily with AT&T Stadium Tours.
If you are looking for great bartenders, fair prices and a great time then Showdown Saloon is exactly what you expect and when you pull up you know you've come to the right place for the night. It is a constantly interesting and invariably diverse mix of University of Texas Arlington students, "regulars" and interesting characters and always a go-to spot for many and waiting for you tonight. Showdown often runs specials such as the Happy Minutes, UTA Day and the Mug Club and that is in addition to the already great prices. They also have a bar-style menu that will do the trick when you need a late, fried up snack, free peanuts, pool tables, a great jukebox and good music and even a place where you can do your laundry. Drive on by and experience the dive/biker feel, a welcoming outside covered area and all in all a good hole-in-the-wall bar.
A day at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is one sure way to stay cool in the Texas heat! This water park features several exciting water slides and pools as well as a kiddie pool area for the park's smaller guests. The intensity of these rides is fair to medium, meaning that it's perfect for younger kids. Fun attractions include Boogie Beach that features volleyball and music, and a Lazy River where you can float along on a tube at a leisurely pace. Also, don't miss the Hook's Lagoon interactive adventure, too.
