Arlington's Upstairs Gallery has maintained an impressive forty-year tradition of featuring the work of Arlington-area artists as well as the work of artisans from the surrounding metro-plex. That scope has produced a truly unique collection of work, from the traditional to the modern, presented in various mediums. The gallery also encourages budding artists to follow their muse by offering classes for kids, teenagers and adults over the course of the year.
Stuck at the office and need a little breathing room? While you may not be able to travel to the outskirts of town for an escape to nature, you can always head to the centrally located Brantley Hinshaw Park and sit on one of the benches or stroll one of the walking paths to clear your head while you take in some outdoor beauty. This park is also a great place to relax after work, too, as the family will enjoy the playgrounds, basketball court, spray pool and great scenery. Also, there is ample lighting if your family outing goes a little past sunset.
The environmental sculpture, locted in Richard Greene Linear Park, known as Caelum Moor is a 5-acre work of art, created by sculptor Norm Hines which includes five groups of granite monuments set in a landscape to enjoy the blending of nature and art.
