Austin Parks Foundation in Barton Creek Greenbelt is a non-profit organization dedicated to the Austin community to enhance their lives by making Austin’s parks better through volunteerism, innovative programming, and financial support. Barton Creek Greenbelt is an urban oasis where the trails provide an opportunity for biking, running, rock climbing, swimming, and hiking. They are known for the annual flagship volunteer event, It’s My Park Day, and Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Metropolitan Park.
One spark of inspiration is all you need for your next big idea at the Thinkery, where each exhibit is hands-on, play-based learning, with activities and content appropriate for visitors of all ages. Create colorful works of art, take apart toys or build and launch gliders at the Spark Shop. See, feel and hear the connections between water and sound at the Currents exhibit. Find out how color, light, and shadows impact the environment at the Light Lab. Participate in sensory exploration, chemical reactions, and edible minerals in the Kitchen Lab. The Dirdie Birdie is a one-of-a-kind immersive miniature golf experience featuring a 12-hole course with unique interactive themes, such as the South Congress bats, the Pennybacker Bridge, and the Music Lane.
