Head out toward the Island to experience the food and environment of the Padre Island Burger Company. This popular hangout serves up some amazing gourmet burgers - we recommend the Mr. Beckham - and the atmosphere here is laid-back and nothing short of island chic. Live music and great drink specials also add to the Burger Company's appeal.
Take a whack at mastering the fairways at NorthShore Country Club. The golf course plays for a par of 72 over 6,805 yards. While you're there, visit the clubhouse to see a gorgeous view of the course and the Corpus Christi Bay from the facility's floor-to-ceiling windows.
Stride the streets of Downtown Corpus Christi and experience what is perhaps the most curious, peculiar yet extraordinarily fantastic festive moments ever imagined, Día de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Street Festival, celebrating the lives we knew and miss and yet joyfully inviting all not only to pay respects to the dead but also celebrate the full life that makes and solidifies our cherished memories. This rich Mexican tradition is transformed into a slice of life to its fullest, alive and kicking with multiple stages of live entertainment, traditional Mexican culture performances, and local bands. You’ll find Día de Los Muertos-themed artworks, Wall and Altars of Remembrance, craft items, jewelry, fun children’s activities, challenging games and plenty of food as the festival takes over several blocks of Downtown held at the end of October.
Watch the winds take the sails at the weekly Corpus Christi Marina's Wednesday Night Sailboat Races. Spectators who show up early can volunteer to join a crew for those captains who are willing. Or you can always sit and watch the races while cheering on your favorite team.
